So Hillary Clinton won the Texas primary, but Barack Obama is leading in the caucus results that are slowly coming in.

So basically it is almost 7 am and I’m wide awake.  I’m about to go eat some breakfast, actually.

April will be a fun month.  I’m going to get to go see Panic at the Disco in Dallas, and hopefully Bradley Hathaway again in Waco.  It would be cool to get to go see The Mars Volta sometime soon, but that most likely will not happen heh.

Dear God,

I know we haven’t spoken in a while.  In fact, I’ve all but avoided you for the longest time.  I don’t know why, Father.  I really don’t.  I used to be there.  I used to be at that point in my life where I felt that every breath I took was for you.  I want to be involved in the campus ministries here, and I want more than anything to be able to commit to something like that.  But for the life of me, I can’t bring myself to doing it.  I know you exist.  To me, I can’t find anything that says you don’t.  The problem I’m having, God, is believing your word.  For some reason, I just can’t grasp it anymore.  I used to hold to your word as my lifeline in this world.  Now I can’t even keep myself believing in it.  I don’t know where to go from here.  Everything is going so great, and I owe it to you.  But, how can I believe in you if I can’t believe what you say?  I have a lot of growing to do…..

Thank you for putting people in my life to help me, and I hope that I can figure this all out soon.

I wish I didn’t care if guys were complete jerks.  It’s like I always end up having a crush on some guy who is a complete and total jerk face.  I don’t know why that is.  I know that not all guys are jerks.  But if the ones who are would stop being so, maybe it wouldn’t be so hard.

Tell me something.  Why would a guy call you and ask you to come drink with him (alone) when he has a girlfriend?

I guess until I find a guy who isn’t a jerk, then I’ll just pretend that one day I’ll meet some amazing musician like Omar Rodriguez Lopez or Brendon Urie or something.  Oh and I’ll pretend that they’ll be nice guys, and not jerks.  And I’ll pretend like we’ll all live happily ever after.

People in general.

I used to feel that people were generally good, but now I know that isn’t the case.

So this week has started out smoothly.  I have so much to do this week; it’s not even funny.  3 tests, a quiz, a presentation, an interview and 3 meetings.  Yikes!

I went and saw “Definitely, Maybe” tonight.  It wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t great either.  REALLY long.  I love Abigail Breslin.  She’s such a great, young actress.  I loved her in “Little Miss Sunshine”, and she looked totally cute presenting with Will Smith’s son at the Academy Awards last year.

Anyway, that is all I have for tonight.

So my friends and I took a trip to Plainview, TX this weekend…a short one- just Friday and Saturday.  It was pretty fun.  It’s always great to get away from the Amarillo/Canyon area, even if it’s only a little bit away.  While it was a great trip, I feel that there was a lot of negativity there, and it bothered me.  I’m thankful for the people who made the trip exciting.  And I’m disappointed in the ones that acted like they didn’t want to be there.

So as many of you know, I don’t really ever listen to the radio.  If I like a song, it’s usually one that’s been out for at least 6 months to a year, but it my mind it’s new!   Well I’ve been listening to some music here lately that you should all check out if you get the chance.  You’ve probably already heard most of it, but humor me.

Amy Winehouse- I didn’t think I’d like her, but I saw her performance at the Grammys and thought, “Wow, she’s not that bad! She’s actually pretty good!”  And she looked absolutely terrified when she won a Grammy.  It was pretty amazing.  If you’ve never listened to her, check her out!

Stolen Babies- My friend recommended this band to me, and I liked it from the beginning.  To me, it’s like Panic at the Disco meets Flyleaf.  Check em out.

Arctic Monkeys- Weird, but good.

Panic at the Disco’s new song- Nine in the Afternoon.  Go watch the video.  It’s pretty great.  I actually think I like it better than the old stuff.  I LOVE the old stuff, but this new song is pretty awesome.

Well, mine has.  I’m not entirely sure why, but I’ve had the crappiest day ever.  Maybe it’s the 60 I made on my Geography test.  Maybe it’s PMS.  Maybe it’s the fact that I’m easily frustrated with people.  Whatever the case, today hasn’t been great.  Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

In other news, I’m considering applying to be a student senator.

I think everyone who attends college should live in a dorm at least once.  You build character, gain community, and develop friendships that will last forever.

1) Low tuition (even with the potential increases, people, you have to admit it’s pretty cheap).

2) The faculty and staff. If you need anything, just ask them. Send an email, make a phone call, or just drop by their offices. I had such a rough time last semester, but I got to sit down and talk with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and the director of Scholarships. I didn’t have to be put on a waiting list, or RSVP or anything. I sent an email, and I got to talk with them. Then there’s the professors. I was scared to approach them when I couldn’t afford my textbooks last semester. When I finally mustered up the courage to talk with them, I was so relieved that they weren’t upset! The people here are dedicated to helping students succeed and that’s extremely noteworthy in my book.

3) The Library- it’s an awesome place. I’ve talked to many people who have told me that they haven’t been to the library at all since they started attending this school. WHAT!? It’s an amazing place. WAY better than the HELC (although the HELC is cool, too). The library has Macs. And books. And laptops you can check out. And an amazing crew of people that are just dying to help you. If you haven’t gone there in a while, maybe you should stop by.

4) Opportunities. There are opportunities for everything here. Everything. Just look around.

5) The caf. I know, I know. Not the greatest stuff in the world. But because of the caf, we don’t have to spend tons of money every day feeding ourselves. It’s like having your parents (plus everyone else’s parents) cooking you all meals every day. Thank goodness!

I heart this school and I kind of wish I had come here as a Freshman. I’m glad I’m here.
